1. Overview

Vox Umbrae ("we", "our", "the application") is a content management tool that connects to TikTok via the TikTok API to allow users to view and publish content on their own TikTok accounts. This policy describes what data we access, how we use it, and how we protect it.

By connecting your TikTok account to this application, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Data We Access

When you authorize this application through TikTok Login Kit, we request access to the following scopes:

ScopeWhat it allowsWhy we need it
user.info.basicDisplay name, avatar, unique user IDTo identify your account within the app
video.publishAbility to publish videos and photo posts on your behalfTo enable content scheduling and publishing features
video.uploadAbility to upload video files to TikTokTo support direct file upload for video publishing

3. How We Use Your Data

All data accessed through the TikTok API is used solely to provide the features of this application — specifically, displaying your profile and content, and publishing posts on your behalf when you explicitly initiate an action.

We do not:
— sell, rent, or share your data with any third party
— store your TikTok access tokens beyond the active browser session
— retain your profile data, video metadata, or published content on our servers
— use your data for advertising, profiling, or analytics purposes

4. Token Storage

Your TikTok access token is stored in your browser's sessionStorage only — it exists for the duration of your browser session and is automatically deleted when you close the tab or click "Disconnect". It is never written to a database or external server.

5. Data Retention

We do not maintain a backend database of user data. Any information retrieved from the TikTok API exists only in memory during your active session and is discarded when the session ends.

6. Third-Party Services

This application uses the TikTok API, governed by TikTok's Privacy Policy. Hosting is provided by Netlify, which may collect standard server access logs as described in Netlify's Privacy Policy.

7. Your Rights

You may revoke this application's access to your TikTok account at any time by visiting TikTok Settings → Connected Apps and removing Vox Umbrae from the list of authorized applications.

You may also disconnect from within the application at any time using the "Disconnect" button in the dashboard.

8. Children's Privacy

This application is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the application after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
